The Mercy Foundation is excited to announce the 2025 Peace Through Art Competition. The Mercy Youth Awards is an annual competition. This year we invite secondary students to creatively express their vision of peace. This competition encourages young artists to explore what peace means to them—whether it’s harmony within their communities, global unity, or inner tranquility. Through their artistic talents, students can convey messages of understanding, compassion, and hope for a more peaceful world. https://www.unesco.org/en/brief
Theme: Peace
Peace is more than the absence of conflict—it is a force that unites, heals, and fosters understanding. It can be found in quiet moments, strong communities, and efforts to create a better world. https://www.economicsandpeace.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/GPI-2024-web.pdf
This competition encourages young artists to explore what peace means to them and to use their talents to convey powerful messages of harmony, compassion, and hope for a more peaceful future.
The artist’s challenge is to:
Create a visual representation (eg artwork/photo/cartoon/collage) that shows “What is Peace?” You could investigate this concept through this competition; we invite students to interpret and illustrate the essence of peace through their artwork—whether it be personal, community-driven, or globally inspired. This competition encourages young artists to explore what peace means to them and to use their talents to convey powerful messages of harmony, compassion, and hope for a more peaceful future.
